Children’s Ministry Assistant 

Job Description




  •      Scheduling of Volunteers

         -     Service reminders via Planning Center

  •      Set-Up for Sunday Mornings (Infant – PreK)

         -     Inventory and organize rooms, stock supplies, clean-up, maintain snack supply

               -     Lesson materials assembled for 2’s, 3’s and Pre-K classes

               -     Organize Pre-K care

  •      Empower and welcome volunteers on Sunday mornings

               -     Volunteer appreciation events and training



  •      Send out volunteer and children’s birthday cards 

  •      Student step-up notifications

  •      Organize curriculum (print and distribute to volunteers when needed)



  •      Maintain supplies and organization of check-in label system

  •      Recruit volunteers

  •      Assist with Parent/Child dedications

  •      Attendance sheets

  •      Clean toys and laundry in preschool rooms – inventory, organize and sanitize

  •      Name tags for classroom boards

  •      Special Event organization and administration (i.e. VBS, WinShape, etc.)

  •      Arrange special event childcare support

  •      Inventory and organize resource closet

  •      Misc. correspondence with volunteers and parents as needed

  •      Assist Children’s Ministry Director with details of ministry – including maintaining student information

         in Elexio database


Required office skills

  •       Excel, Microsoft Word

  •      Graphic design

  •      Database management


This position reports directly to the Children’s Ministry Director. 


In general, this job requires 20 hours per week, which includes 4 hours on Sunday mornings from 8:00am - 12:00pm.
